Financial Spread Betting - Getting Started

    By John | August 22, 2010

Financial spread betting is something that I have been doing for a while but know that many people are new to it. It was many advantages which makes it a great way to trade. This should give you a introduction to financial spread betting. I want to present you with both siders, positives and negatives.

Believe it or not, financial spread betting has been around for a long time. It was created in the 1970s but wasn’t widely used. It was formed from spread betting in sports. It is exempt from tax in the UK as it is described as a form of gambling.

I know people that want to make money from Forex but don’t know where to start. I think that financial spread betting is a great way of doing it. You are able to bet on currency movements using the same principals applied to other markets. It is a very efficient and inexpensive way of doing it.

It is great that you can bet on currencies but it gets better. There are lots of different markets for you to trade. If you want to trade stocks or bonds then you can. If you want exposure to gold then you can. Better still you can do it from the same financial spread betting firm.

Before you start with financial spread betting you need to understand leverage. Using leverage can be beneficial. You may end up with big losses if you don’t act sensibly with leverage. Many people don’t use it correctly and live to regret it. Ensure that that doesn’t happen to you.

Now that you understand a little more about financial spread betting I hope that you continue to pursue it further. As you have seen there are not only benefits but there are risks as well. Make sure you are comfortable with that before you start.
